SEERS Medical are the UK's leading manufacturer of medical examination and treatment couches. We pride ourselves in designing and producing consistent and reliable products.
Design
Weight Testing
During the design process, a product is required to carry out a deflection test, which involves the product being weight-tested to 2.5x its safe working load for 24 hours. The product is stress tested under huge load, and any deflection on the framework measured.
Prototyping
To assess the product as a whole, we create a prototype. A recent addition to R&D is the use of visualisation software, which allows the team to review the product together, in person or remotely, using virtual reality headsets. The product can be moved, spun around and adjusted in the virtual environment and this process is much faster than producing a physical prototype.
Once the product has been assessed and approved for safety, functionality and aesthetics, a physical prototype or "pre-production sample" is manufactured in our workshop.
Product Features
Twin Arm Design
To overcome the risk of a couch tipping up, SEERS have designed the base frame to include twin lift arms, which ensures the patient’s weight is evenly distributed across the couch. This helps to increase stability and rigidity which cannot be matched with a single arm design.
Adjustable Foot
SEERS fit an adjustable foot leveller on all couches with retractable wheels. This provides the benefit of being able to steady and level the couch on uneven flooring.
Anti-Entrapment Gas Struts
SEERS use anti-entrapment gas struts on all manually adjusting couch sections. This prevents crushing and therefore harm to patients and users.
Upholstery
Rounded Corners
Our upholstery sections have been designed to incorporate rounded corners to make moving around the couch easier. The reason for doing this is because squared corners can be easy to knock
into by both patient and caregiver.
Easy Clean Upholstery
SEERS are now able to offer upholstery without any visible staples. This prevents the growth of bacteria in hard-to-clean areas (such as under a staple or in a seam) and removes the risk of injury from a missed sharp staple.
Product Final Inspection:
Prior to leaving the production facility, we ensure all finished products undergo a final inspection process to confirm all requirements are fulfilled. Each product has a unique final inspection certificate, validating passed inspection. The serial label can be used for identification and after-sales support.
